Engagement in Research Practices 

Adapt conference & RET, Colorado School of Mines, 2024. Poster session, The Effect of Multiple Geometries on Surface Roughness and Subsurface Defects in Laser Powder Bed Fusion. 

 The additive Manufacturing Program at the Colorado School of Mines Poster session is designed to showcase teachers' research into adaptive manufacturing methods. This research focused on the shape of 3D printing metals using laser bed fusion methods. A focus was put on the speed of the laser, the power used, and the placement of the scan in creating a metal structure. The project was completed by Bryan Westman, Alex Kleen, Jorge Ramirez Lujan, and Dr. Joy Gockel.

ISTE National Conference, Denver, Colorado. June 25, 2024. Poster session

The ISTE conference poster presentation is a follow to the Graduate Research Symposium 2022 at UNC. This presentation was at a national educational technology conference. One of the largest in the country. It brings in educators, administrators and educational companies from around the world. 

The focus of the research was on an ethnographic observation of the University of Northern Colorado's E-Sports club. A look at the interaction, method of socialization, and common bonding of video games was examined over the course of a semester at UNC.

InnEdCO Educational Technology Teacher Conference in Colorado.
2022 & 2023

The InnEdCO EdTech conference for teachers is held every year in Colorado. I have had the privilege of presenting at the conference for two consecutive years. As a technology teacher, I presented training on how to teach a Digital Production course for middle schools.

E-Sports  Research Poster at UNC Graduate Research Symposium 2022

Working on a Qualitative Ethnography project with Sydney B. and Yash P. was a fantastic experience.  I am a proponent of Game-Based Learning and E-Sports in educational institutions. The purpose of this research was to observe the E-Sports club on the UNC campus and provide context to their involvement as well as the community.

AECT International Conference 2022. 

Educational Technology Course Improvement for Teacher Preparation Programs is research completed with WeiHsuan Lo, Erin Wachter, Sarah Alqasem, myself, and our advisor, Dr. Heng-Yu Ku. This Research Poster was presented at the Association for the Educational, Communications, and Technology International conference in 2023. The research is a culmination of multiple classes of work to determine the best way to improve the ET-340  Integration of Technology into Content and Pedagogy class at UNC.

Research Evening 2021 and Three Minute Thesis. 

The Research Evening 2021 and Three Minute Thesis was a combination of presentations on the work devoted to the improvement of ET-340 Integration of Technology into Content and Pedagogy. WeiHsuan Lo, Erin Wachter, Sarah Alqasem, and I presented the importance of Educational Technologies for Pre-Service Educators. This was both a Research Poster and Presentation to the Graduate School.

ISTE Conference and Scalable Game Design 2016

The ISTE Conference in Denver 2016 was an Educational Technology Conference that traveled nationwide. I was assisting in the Cu Boulder Scalable Game Design and Agent Cube presentation this year. Students led presentations on how to create video game coding as well as the advantages of teaching with computational thinking.

TNT Conference 2010.

TNT Conference is an Educational Technology Conference in the city of El Paso, Texas. At the conference, I presented Comic Life, as well as GIMP a digital editing program to teachers.
